New Course Offering

I’m delighted to announce my new course offering in the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis for Fall 2010 entitled ELPA 780: School-Community Relations. ELPA 780 examines theories, purposes, and structures associated with school-community partnerships. The course is rooted in the assumption that strategically cultivated relationships between schools and various community-based organizations/individuals can help foster wide-ranging student successes. Through their critique of established and emerging scholarship on school-community partnerships, exposure to diverse school and community-based learning sites, dialogue with respected scholars and practitioners, and development of research-informed school-community action plans, students will develop nuanced understandings of leadership in collaborative contexts.
