Happy 2013 everyone! Blogger Kari Kenefick over at Promega Connections has a nice write up of work on the neural basis of synesthesia out today, available here. In her post, Kari describes her own experiences, and then provides an excellent overview of work that we have done over the past decade examining the neural mechanisms of one form of synesthesia, grapheme-color synesthesia, in which letters and number (“graphemes”) elicit color experiences (see our publications page for more details). She is also kind enough to mention the upcoming Oxford Handbook of Synaesthesia, to appear later this year, and to the American Synesthesia Association, which will be holding their annual meeting at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto. Thanks Kari!
