My name is Aarna Shah and I’m a junior majoring in neurobiology with a certificate in criminal justice. I’m so excited to be working in the lab and to learn more about educational neuroscience! Outside of the lab, I am a member of zeta tau alpha, the undergraduate neuroscience society and I volunteer at Meriter hospital. In my free time I work as a barista, and I love reading and spending time with my friends.

My name is Maanya Shetty and I am a senior majoring in Psychology, Global Health, and Legal Studies with certificates in Criminal Justice and Data Science. I have been a member of the lab for 2 years, and am very excited to learn about educational neuroscience! After I graduate, I hope to go to law school. Outside the lab, I am a member of Alpha Phi Omega (a service fraternity) and am president of the Criminal Justice and Juvenile Student Association. In my free time, I enjoy dancing, watching movies, and going on walks around Madison.

Hi! My name is Abby, and I’m a senior majoring in neurobiology. This is my fourth semester in the EdNeuro lab, and I enjoy learning about educational neuroscience and working with kids. I will be starting pharmacy school in the fall here at UW! Outside of the lab, I am involved in Project Sunshine and Health Professions Society on campus. In my free time, I work as a CNA at Meriter hospital, and I enjoy reading, cycling, and spending time with friends and family.

My name is Ella and I am a third-year undergraduate student studying Biology. I plan on attending medical school after my undergrad. This spring will be my first semester working in the LAMBDA lab, and I am excited for the opportunity to learn more about educational neuroscience and work with all the children! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working out, and working as a CNA.

Hello! My name is Olivia Imberger and I am a second-year undergraduate student studying Neurobiology with a certificate in Health and the Humanities on the pre-med track. This will be my first semester working in the lab and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues! Further, I am extremely excited to learn and apply my knowledge learned within the lab to the growing field of educational neuroscience. Outside of school, I enjoy staying involved with groups on campus (such as the Pre-Medical Honor Society and Madison Friends of International Students), spending time with friends, and staying active!

This is my first semester in this lab and I am looking forward to learning more about research processes and the intersection of neuroscience, psychology, and education. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

My name is Annabelle Presly and I’m a freshman double majoring in Neurobiology and Psychology. This is my first semester in the lab, and I am incredibly excited to gain experience, work with children, and learn from those involved in the lab already! Outside of the lab, I volunteer at the Goodman community center in their preschool program and participate in University Band. In my free time, I enjoy reading, snowboarding, going to concerts, and traveling!

Hi! My name is Devon, and I am a sophomore majoring in Neurobiology with a certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies. After graduating, I hope to pursue a career in the medical field as a physician assistant. This is my first semester in the Educational Neuroscience lab, and I am super excited to gain research experience in the neuroscience field and discover more about how kids learn. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, exploring Madison, and spending time with family and friends.

My long term career goal is to become a physician as well as contribute to the current body of scientific knowledge through research. I am very excited to join the lab and learn more about educational neuroscience! Outside of school I enjoy spending time with friends and family, baking, reading, and going to the gym.

My name is Krithi Gopinath, and I’m a sophomore majoring in Neurobiology with a certificate in South Asian Studies. After graduation, I plan to spend some time traveling before attending medical school. This is my first semester in the lab, and although my experience with Educational Psychology is limited to one class, I’m excited to expand my knowledge and contribute to the team. Outside of academics, I love practicing Indian Classical music and dance, exploring hiking trails, and discovering new foods at the Madison Farmers Market!

Hi! My name is Sophie Wasserman, and I am a sophomore double majoring in Neurobiology and Psychology. After I graduate, I plan on attending medical school and pursuing a career in child psychiatry. This will be my first semester in the lab, and I’m so excited to join the team and deepen my understanding of educational neuroscience! Outside of the lab, I am a member of Delta Delta Delta and Wisconsin Pre-Medical Society. In my free time I enjoy trying new restaurants around Madison and spending time with friends!

My name is Will and I am a second-year undergraduate student studying Neurobiology and Education Policy.  I’m excited to be joining the Educational Neuroscience Lab and begin contributing to the valuable work that takes place here. I’m interested in how neuroscience can be used to inform education policy, especially related to children’s cognition.

My name is Jack, and I am a high school special student with an interest in the effects of psychological, cognitive, emotional, cultural, and social factors on decision-making and learning.  This is my second year in the lab, and I am hoping to deepen my understanding of the relationship between the brain and behavior while being exposed to real-world research practices, including the actual techniques and methodology scientists and professors use to conduct it. Outside the lab, I enjoy curling, fencing, horseback riding, playing Magic the Gathering, and volunteering as an ambassador for JDRF.
