The Mathematics Education Learning & Development (MELD) Lab was started in 2012 by Dr. Percival Matthews. Our lab is grounded on two overarching goals:
- We strive to understand the basic processes that lay the foundation for math learning.
- We seek to find ways to harness this basic knowledge to create effective methods that can be used to improve educational outcomes.
We work in collaboration with various other labs, including the EdNeuroLab, the Cognitive Development & Communication Lab, the Cognitive Development Lab, and the Cognition & Development Lab.
Our research is funded through grants, including those from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the James S. McDonnell Foundation.
