I seek to bring the research methods and practices of the Learning Sciences to the world of educational leadership and instructional design for professional learning. My research falls into four themes:<\/p>\n
– the applications of distributed leadership<\/a> to the central design challenges of schools;<\/p>\n – the development of games and digital media<\/a> for professional learning;<\/p>\n – adapting Aristotle’s concept of phronesis<\/em><\/a>, or practical wisdom to understanding professional expertise; and<\/p>\n – the future of schooling and technology<\/a>.<\/p>\n I have led teams to develop and research projects on teacher evaluation<\/a>, classroom-based simulations<\/a>, school district leadership,<\/a> on-line cases of leadership practice (1<\/a>, 2<\/a>), fantasy sports<\/a>, mobile technologies for teachers<\/a>, game-based assessment<\/a>, and video games for learning<\/a>.<\/p>\n I seek to bring the research methods and practices of the Learning Sciences to the world of educational leadership and instructional design for professional learning.
