Neuro. Lab and the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.education.wisc.edu\/pmatthews\/\">MELD lab<\/a>\u00a0have received official word that we have jointly been awarded an R01 grant from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nichd.nih.gov\/Pages\/index.aspx\">NICHD<\/a> (1R01HD088585 <a href=\"https:\/\/projectreporter.nih.gov\/project_info_description.cfm?aid=9159286\">project description on NIH Reporter<\/a>). This five-year project will follow two groups of children from 2nd-5th grade, and from 5th-8th grade, to explore the behavioral and neural foundations of fractions to test the relationships between basic cognitive skills and fractions processing, and how these, in turn, support the development of higher-order math, including algebra.
